SEO also known as search engine optimization is an essential part of Internet marketing, my reasons for this are that SEO allows you to advertise directly to your target audience. There are no middle men, no sites in between just you and your target audience. So why not perform SEO?If you don’t have a clue about how to optimize your website and increase its popularity in the search engines then i can understand why at first glance you would pass up the opportunity to gain an increase in traffic and for most of this increase to be targeted. But think again, if someone was to ask you if you wanted 90% or more targeted traffic straight to your website? You wouldn’t turn around and say no, so why miss this opportunity. Although i do realise SEO is not the easiest form of increasing traffic it can be one of the best long term marketing strategies you can use, and with such targeted traffic you just can’t say no. SEO has two different forms on page SEO and off page SEO, as you can probably imagine on page SEO is the optimizing that you perform on your website, where as off page SEO is the optimizing you perform externally. These can be things like link building and the different strategies used for link building. Here are some on page factors to consider optimising:Title tag: Add your keywords that your focusing on in this tagMeta Tags: Add your keywords again here, making sure the description is easy to read, eye catching and makes people want to click. Body: Content: You want to add your keywords to your bodies content, make it readable. Write for your users not the search engines.
