WeReward is a cool app that just requires an iPhone or Android (soon on Blackberry too) and social media account, such as Facebook or Twitter. You earn points for taking a pic of yourself doing things you normally do anyway, such as eating at a restaurant or shopping. Those rewards turn into money.
The marketing behind this is genious. Local marketing businesses pay to be included in the WeReward directory, and every person who earns points shares the pic and link to their social media accounts, spreading the publicity and popularity to both users and other businesses. According to Ted Murphy, the social media guru for WeReward, they already have “15 million merchants nationwide playing the game with savvy techies.” They also boast that the average user can make $50 a week doing the things they were going to do anyway.
If you have an Android or iPhone, check it out. See what businesses are participating in your area. Might as well get a free lunch or some pocket change out of it, right? Or if you are a business owner, add yourself to the directory to gain more exposure with advertising online. Coupons bring customers right? Same idea behind WeReward, in my opinion.
