Online Marketing Tips – Using Blogs To Market Your Business

There are many different ways to advertise and market on the internet. No one method is perfectly effective by itself, as the best approach is to use a cluster of different ways. For example, a small business owner might decided to use SEO and submitting press releases as a way to market his or her company while another one may buy direct advertising and build an opt-in email list. There are many different online marketing tips that can prove effective. One of them requires proficiency with blogging interfaces. Good blogging skills can bring more traffic to a business. However, like most other marketing effort, there are right ways and wrong ways to proceed.

If a marketer is new to blogging, they should not try to monetize their posts immediately. After all, the initial purpose of a blog is to drive web traffic elsewhere, to a specific business. This should remain the first goal. After all, if a blog has absolutely no visitors, all the contextual or banner advertisements will not help. They will not produce any revenue. It is always best to build a well-visited site first, and then monetize the content much later.

That said, there are several ways an online marketing technician can drive traffic to a blog, and eventually to the business the blog represents. Much of this depends on two major components: Google and Bing. Most web surfers land on blogs through search engine queries. Major search engines routinely crawl through the internet and rank content based on a few things. Links to the site provide it with authority, and use of keywords on the site give it relevance. So, if a user searches for “romance ebooks,” the search engine will compile a list of well linked-to content pages that bares a high frequency of the terms “romance ebooks.”

This is the main reason why search engine optimization is such an important facet of internet marketing. SEO tactics will try to get certain pages higher in a search engine’s rankings. After all, the most effective way to get traffic is to appear one the first page of search results.

Try This Small Bussiness SEO Tip: Link Baiting

Businesses and marketing firms that are web based have been competing at a much higher level than they have been before. Because of this cut throat competition, it has been becoming increasingly more difficult for small web-based businesses and blogs to distinguish themselves and stay highly ranked in search engine results.

Ranking highly in the bigger search engines such as Yahoo, Bing or Google can very easily help any business thrive. Having said that, how would other companies be able to compete? What can they do? This level of competition can be very intimidating for companies that are just starting out and although this is quite understandable, there are steps that can be taken to solve this dilemma.

Any new internet business that attempts to be visible on the internet can succeed in their endeavor. In order to do so, they have to constantly create new innovative strategies that can get more people to pay attention to their business and create more links. Links are essentially points given to sites that let search engines know that they are of high quality. This is one method of improving search engine placement.

An older method has been becoming increasingly popular once again. It’s called link baiting or buzz baiting by some. Link baiting ideas are the introduction of something that is unique enough to create buzz about business online. It is the creation and promotion of something that will attract attention.

Despite the fact that there are many major companies online there is still a chance for smaller firms to be successful when using this small business SEO tactic. Using these link baiting ideas is one of the ways to balance the playing field because it doesn’t require much money to be effective. The proper amount of time and effort is more than enough to draw in potential clients.

Add Personality to your blog by Registering A Domain

With the internet moving ahead like it has, we now see many people running a number of different blogs. It does not matter what your blog topic is on, as long as you have some sort of passion about the topic, it can be an enjoyable personal adventure into cyberspace. But to if you want to achieve in having a complete unique personalized blog than you need to consider registering a domain name. Having a domain makes it unique because no one else can have the same domain. On top of this you also can select a much shorterdomain name, which can help improve returning visitors if the domain is much easier to remember. Keeping it short, catchy and exciting will help you achieve this.

Do a website domain search and find out what is available today.

But do not go choosing a domain that is too short that people do not know what the blog is about. On the other side if you did have a very long and tongue tying domain name, then it may become a very hard task to get people to visit the blog. It’s simple, keep thedomain short and sweet!

Before you can choose your domain name you will need to research your target audience. This is because understanding your audience will give you the information that may work better at getting that type of audience to visit your blog.

But do not overlook or underestimate the long term power of using your personal name as the domain name. This has been time and time again and has continued to be successful. If you are expecting your family and friends to read your blog (and if you use facebook or twitter marketing this is very easily going to happen) than make sure you choose a domain name that they are going to be able to tell their friends about (no offensive domain names).

The last thing you want to do is offend someone close to you, being family or friends, so special consideration need to be considered to ensure this is not accidently done. However, if your audience uses the phrases which will help invite them to visit your blog, than using these phrases will help improve the success of your blog. This is why some people are writing blogs and not promoting to their friends and family that they are running that blog. Keeping things like this a secret from friends and family is something many people have chosen to do. Just don’t forget to consider all of the above when choosing a domain name for your blog.

How to purchase a domain name?

This is not a hard process, once you choose a domain registrar and a domain name than it’s very simple. But is there anything else that is included?

In many cases when you purchase a domain name you also get to an email address. In many cases you get a number (or unlimited number) of email addresses.

These emails help you look more professional when you are sending emails to your readers, etc. An example of the type of email addresses that you can get is Dave@yourdomain.com.

If you are not thinking about registering a domain name for your blog, than you should be as it could be what takes you and your blog to the next level. If your favorite domain name is purchased by someone else, than generally speaking it’s gone for a long time. You can only try and make an offer and purchase it from the person who now owns it (but believe me this can cost much more) or you have to wait for it to expire. So to avoid this from happening, and wasting money on paying more in the future, go out and register your chosen domain name before it’s gone.

Marketing your Restaurant Online

So you’ve finally figured out your restaurant web design and now it’s time to let people know that your restaurant exists. Nobody wants to go to a restaurant that they have never heard of, but just because your restaurant is new doesn’t mean that you can’t start to build a good reputation online. Blogs and other social media are the perfect tool for building up a sterling reputation online which you can then take into the real world and use to make your restaurant great.

Online Marketing

Traditional online advertising is done by purchasing banner ads on what you think to be relevant web sites and having them display as people browse the site. Although there is a time and a place for this, it is no longer the only way to get the word out about your restaurant. There are many other ways which you can advertise your restaurant which are much more subtle and effective than using banner ads on relevant websites. Social networks are a prime example of this, as they can help you to spread the word about your restaurant for a very low cost.

How to Use Social Networks

You may have started with a restaurant web design in New Jersey, but that doesn’t mean that your marketing campaign should only show up to those in the area. The wonderful thing about the internet is that it is a global system. If you can get the word out about your restaurant to someone across the country, at some point they may end up taking a road trip to your location. When they do this, they may decide to come to your restaurant to experience the food that they had already heard about. Social networks are the perfect tool for cheaply spreading the word about your restaurant’s web site. If you can get even two of your friends to tell two of their friends about your site, you will find that word spreads very quickly. The more people that know about your restaurant, the more likely they are to come over to experience what they have been hearing about. Social networks and blogs are powerful recommendation tools, as people are more likely to trust recommendations from people that they already know.

Successful Internet Marketing Strategies

In internet marketing, success (and income) is measured by the amount of traffic a website receives.  It is desirable to have as many visitors as possible come to your site, as it gives affiliate programs more exposure and raises advertising revenue by doing so.  This article enumerates and discusses internet marketing strategies that can drive up traffic.

Before anything else though, it must be said that to achieve marketing success, the product or service that you would be offering must have value in itself.  No matter how hard you promote something, if it is deficient or undesirable, no marketing program will make it sell.

The marketing strategies discussed here are even more effective when used in combination.

Blogs

Blogs are online collections of articles that can be exclusively dedicated to a specific field or not. Some blogs that deal with topics such as plumbing and apron sinks can be very useful sources of information for those who are not so knowledgeable about these topics. Blogging is gaining a lot of popularity, as it allows the exchange of ideas on just about every topic imaginable.    Blogging can be an effective marketing strategy, especially if you can create a steady following for your blog site.  For this to happen, you will need to post relevant, useful and interesting content and keep it updated with the current information and trends related to your focus.  Blogs are also good vehicles for links to other sites and articles.  Well-visited blogs make a steady revenue from affiliate programs that post paid advertisements.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

SEO campaigns are hugely effective marketing strategies, which is why the SEO and SEM industries have grown to be multi-million dollar industries in a short period.  In searching for products and services, people usually turn to search engines for information.  SEO campaigns focus on gaining high search ratings for your website.  The first spot on search engine results is the holy grail of any SEO campaign.  Website ranking is a strong determinant of traffic.

If you are going to be hiring an SEO company to promote your site, choose one that already had previous success with other clients.  A good SEO firm should have an impressive portfolio at their fingertips.  Be warned though that an SEO campaign can be long-term; to maintain high ranking, links must be built on a consistent and continuous schedule.

Local Search Visibility

If your business aims to have local community presence, then local search visibility should be your internet marketing strategy of choice.  There are several strategies to establish a strong local search presence.  It is crucial to submit listings to the local Google Local Business Center and other local directories.  Certain visibility optimization techniques such as including city and state in relevant meta tag fields will also help.

Forums and Review Sites

Forums and review sites provide buyers with useful information regarding products and services.  These platforms provide an opportunity to rave about a certain product or vent about defects and poor service.  Do not underestimate the power of forums and review sites; potential customers use them to seek information and advice before buying certain products.  You might find it useful to search forums that are relevant to your business/ website to determine whether your company offerings are already being discussed.  If there are any negative postings related to you, do not disregard it.  Perform damage control and do your best to present your company and products in a positive light.  If your business is yet to be referenced, then you might take steps to have some favourable opinions published.

Paid Online Banners

Banners or pop-ups are aggressive attention grabbers.  Personally, I do not consider banner advertising as a good primary strategy but for the purposes of this article it is worth a mention. Banner advertising can be an annoying distraction especially for people who are in the middle of doing something important online.  More often than not, banners and pop-ups cause annoyance to the viewer. There are also software and firewall settings that can effectively block them from showing up.  It must be said though that there are certain conditions where it can have greater success than the other marketing strategies discussed in this article.  I have to admit that there have been a few strategically written banners that have caught my interest and prompted me to find out more about the product or service being advertised.  If you will be using banner advertisement, better find a web designer who can create one that can create something that will capture interest, otherwise it would simply be a waste of money.

How To Get More Backlinks With Linkvana

Linkvana operates a large number of various weblogs which are at different locations and areas to keep you protected. All weblogs in their system have domain age, PR2 or above and website link recognition, which means lots of links directed to their blogs. Following joining linkvana you receive to make posts to their system of weblog networks. When your article is authorized in linkvana you will have the website link which you placed within that write-up pointing back to your website. This link is in your article and the article is on the blog that has page rank and age. Below i cover in more detail this linkvana review:

Essentially you have got an user interface (I go through it on the video below) that lets you to go in and setup link projects. You are able to keep one website per project. Inside that project is all the links you are creating for that domain. The best part about linkvana may be the easy to use interface. I currently am working on about 4 very large authority sites and about 15+ smaller niche sites. It can get very confusing so I do appreciate the organization of the Linkvana user interface. You can see more below in my video.

After creating a project and putting in the site you want to work on you can then go into that particular project and start working. From here is where you start doing the linkbuilding. You pick the category of your website, when you want your links to be sent out once you load them up, you can choose to have links go out every day, every other day, every 3 days etc.

There are 2 ways to get your links. You can choose to make posts which are short blurbs basically. Or you can submit articles that are longer and can include up to 3 links. Take Advantage of that. You then click send and it gets ready to be sent out into their Linkvana blog system. After approval your article or post will go onto one of their weblogs and also you may have a backlink. These blogs are PR2 blogs or higher.

Another feature i like is the ability to submit to eza, go articles and a few others right from the linkvana interface. I like how i can submit to other places within the interface because its very easy. What ive covered so far is the main functions of their program. Obviously the best part about linkvana is the ability to carry advantage of their massive colletion of high PR weblogs. This gives your links diversity.

I think their article writing service is WAY too costly to be taken seriously. I had a post and an article written and they were not worth it. A post of hundred words will cost you 2 dollars and a 300 word article will run you about $10! A little excessive in my personal view. Secondly the quality isn’t even that great for that kind of price. Of all the internet marketing course review i have done this is one of my favorite services.

Again I think their social bookmarking is another overpriced service they offer. 50 bookmarks will run you about 26 bucks. NO THANKS! If you plan to do a lot of bookmarking then you should buy software. One place you can find bookmark builders is forums like digital point.

Law Firm Internet Marketing Not Just About Articles

I’m the owner of a law firm. I do criminal defense work. Very quickly I learned there is one rule that every business owner needs to remember to be successful – without clients you have nothing. So, I started looking for ways to get clients, and it soon dawned on me that internet marketing was one of the best ways to get in front of people (absent referrals, which are always the best). Based on that realization I started learning everything I could about law firm internet marketing, and what I learned was fascinating.

For example, Google ranks everything based on a twisted popularity contest. It wants to have the best content up top, so it looks for votes from other people in the form of links pointing from one website to another. Google determines what the linked to site is about by looking not only at the site but at the keyword. The more links you have that accurately describe your site, and the more popular the site it comes from, the higher you will be ranked in Google (and the more eyeballs will see your site, and the more people will call… you get it).

But you don’t just have to wait around for people to send you links. You can create them using articles. But, and this is why this article is so important, law firm internet marketing is just all about the articles. It’s about where they come from, what they say, and when they are created. Let me explain a little bit.

First, where the articles come from. When the purported SEO experts start calling you and trying to sell you stuff, they’ll tell you all about the articles they’ll create for you. What they won’t tell you is that they’ll be on sites that Google has identified as spam sites and you’ll get no credit for that article. You must make sure your articles are placed on reputable sites.

Second, once you find a reputable site, the article’s got to be original. Google knows if an article has been published before. Don’t ask me how, but they know. Because of that your articles must be original content. If your law firm web marketers aren’t creating original content they’re worthless.

Finally, the timeline of creation is important. You can’t just throw up your website and start sending a million links to it on day one. In the real world it takes time to build up a good reputation. The same rules apply to the real world. Add your articles a little bit at a time. It will be easier on you and the search engines will like it better.

If you want to find clients, you’ve got to have a law firm internet marketing strategy. Just make sure you take a little time to find out how the game works.

Grey Hat, White Hat or Black Hat SEO Tutorial. Which Do You Choose?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) refers to a set of techniques that are performed on a website with the intention of increasing its search engine rankings. SEO can be performed during the programming stages, while planning and producing content, and by exchanging links or by building one-way links.

Now SEO is big business because if performed well it has the potential to catapult a website to the top of the search engine rankings. Getting on top of search engine rankings is like getting free front-page exposure in an oracle that caters to a billion Dollar market. Naturally, websites are keen to make it to the top and this has generated a massive demand for SEO firms.

Well, there are two types of SEO techniques – Ethical, also known as White Hat SEO and Unethical, also called Black Hat SEO. The lure of getting prime exposure has brought to the surface many firms and individuals who try to adopt unscrupulous SEO techniques to fool the search engines into giving a website top exposure. Of course, there are those too who work by the book – this is how both these techniques work:

WHITE HAT SEO TECHNIQUES

White hat SEO techniques are solid, credible, quality techniques that ensure that a website gets to the top and stays there. Here are some of the popular ones:

1. Great Content: For SEO purposes content is not just king – it is the emperor. If you upload quality content that is well written, informative and entertaining, then search engines will fall in love with your website. Of course, you must ensure that keywords relevant to your website’s theme are built into your content. Search engine algorithms are always on the lookout for websites that provide quality content that is of use to their surfers – so, well, content rules.

2. Programming techniques: SEO while programming a website involves placing search-engine-friendly text in the meta tags, building a clear and concise website structure that can bring up the searched-for content in a jiffy, using structural mark-ups, and building in tags in the title, subtitles and the footers of every content page.

3. Solid keyword research and use: Before developing content, you must figure out the most popular keywords relevant for your website’s theme. To do this you will have to conduct a thorough research using keyword tools provided by major search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Some SEO firms also use third-party software such as WordTracker for keyword analysis. Once SEO firms get their finger on the most expensive and effective keywords, they skillfully build them into the content.

4. Link building: SEO firms trade links with other reputed websites. When a website’s links spread, its search engine rankings automatically go up. Nowadays, may website owners get articles written and submit them to reprint directories, where other websites who need content can pick them up. Of course, the trick in article submission lies in including a resource box at the end of the article that points back to your website.

BLACK HAT SEO TECHNIQUES

Unscrupulous SEO firms use black hat SEO techniques to fool the search engines. These techniques are shortcuts that can take you here and there, but ultimately lead to a dead end. Here are some of the common black hat SEO techniques:

1. Veiled content: The website is stuffed with popular keywords that form part of the background color scheme, and hence are not visible to a surfer. The idea is to trick the search engine into picking up the hidden content.

2. Keyword-spammed content: There are SEO firms who do not get quality content written – instead, they plug in all blah-blah content that is spammed with keywords. The idea is the same – to trick the search engines.

3. Redirecting: Many unscrupulous SEO firms own a bunch of websites that have already been indexed by search engines. When you approach them for SEO, they may plant a code on their existing websites redirecting their links back to your website.

4. Cloaking: Using this technique, SEO firms direct specified content towards search engine spiders but do not hoist it on the website, because it is useless.

5. Tag spam: Meta-tags and other tags of a website, which are used by search engine spiders to quick-reference or index a website are spammed with keywords using this technique.

6. Links from link farms: Link farms represent a humungous amount of useless, content-less websites. Unscrupulous SEO firms use these link farms for building backlinks.

Black Hat SEO can finish a website

Remember that if you use black hat SEO tricks on your website, you might as well write it off. That is because search engine algorithms are getting smarter by the day and now can sniff out useless content, hidden text, redirections and other foul SEO methods. Once search engines figure out that a website is up to mischief then they blacklist it – and once blacklisted, a website is suspended from the search engine’s index and is not picked up until and unless all the black hat SEO is removed. Plus, when a website’s visitors come to know that it is using black hat techniques they will get put off and stay away from it.

To sum up, black hat SEO techniques can destroy a website or business opportunity, while white hat SEO techniques can make it flourish in the long run. Go ahead, make your choice!

How Can Your Company Become More Popular?

An interesting trend has emerged at the start of 2009 that will impact your marketing strategy and your choice of SEO company. Because we are in challenging economic times, many businesses are looking to save money in their marketing budgets. This search for low-cost marketing has increased the importance of social media, an affordable and effective marketing option.
Ron Callari, writing for Scoop Independent News in New Zealand, predicts that “businesses will take a more integrated approach to social marketing in 2009 to save money as the economy continues to falter. Low-cost social marketing will become the tool of choice. ” He also believes that SEO companies will help businesses repurpose their offline messages for redistribution on social media sites, like social networks, blogs, wikis and video sharing sites. This will, in turn, increase their reach and their “search authority”.
Supporting Callari’s statements, a recent study out of Toronto shows that 82% of Canadian business leaders plan to spend more on social media marketing in 2009 than they did in the previous year.
Further evidence of the importance of social media marketing was seen in a news story from the Wall Street Journal in January, 2009, which stated that advertisers have begun moving their dollars away from search advertising and towards mobile platforms and social networks. The article goes on to say that search engines have not faded from the landscape, but a significant shift towards social media is clearly underway.
So, how does your business ride the wave of social media marketing? It is not as straightforward as you might think. There are many social media sites.
How can your company become more popular? Search engine optimization training can show you.
If you manage your own Website, you may have some knowledge of how to increase your ranking on Google. But keeping up with the latest trends and information on search engine optimization (SEO) is a full-time job. It requires constant scanning and reading of SEO Websites and blogs, and who has time for that?
This is where search engine optimization training comes in. With the right training course, you can learn all of this “inside” information without having to do the actual research yourself. Leave it to your instructors to prowl the Net for information on Google algorithms and ranking secrets. All you need to do is attend a course that will tell you what’s new in the world of SEO and, more importantly, how you can apply this knowledge to your business.
For example, many SEO experts believe that Google’s algorithm (the complex and top-secret formula they use for ranking sites) has changed to base a site’s ranking more on links than on-site content. Some peg the ratio at 80%-90% links and only 10%-20% site content. The bottom line for you? Stop worrying so much about optimizing your pages and start worrying about building links.
Knowing the best way to build links without incurring the wrath of Google is not easy. You cannot just start dropping links to your Website anywhere you want. You need a clear strategy to ensure you get high-quality links and to ensure that you build your popularity gradually. Your links need to come from a variety of sources. And you need to know how to create the right anchor text to appeal to search engines.
A search engine optimization training course can tell you everything you need to know about building link popularity through:
? General Advice on Increasing the Visibility of Your Site – There are lots of techniques you can use to build popularity. A general overview will get you started.
? Directories – Some are better than others and it is important that you can determine which are best suited to your business. If you live in a large centre, like Toronto, the choice of local directories alone can overwhelm you. SEO training can tell you which directories to focus on and whether it is worthwhile to pay for a listing.
? Using Blogs and Articles – A lot of companies have discovered the power of blog and article marketing. Regular blog posts with the right kind of links to your site can help boost popularity. Similar in concept to blogs, articles enable you to get your name out there, and offer many chances to link to your site. Your search engine optimization training course will show you how to start and maintain a blog, and where to post articles you have written.
? The Latest Trends in Link Popularity – Find out which link building techniques are working most effectively at this moment in time. Be ahead of the curve and stay ahead of the competition.
With the right instruction, you can get launch a strong and effective link building program. Search engine optimization training can show you how to build links, and put that knowledge in context so you can develop a comprehensive Web marketing plan.

Writing A Great Tutorial

Acquiring readers for your blog is a task that may be hard for you to maintain over the life of your blog. This may be a big concern that is on every single bloggers mind. But if you maintain great content on your page, then you should not be concerned.
One way to make sure that you have constant readers for your blog is by having tutorials on your blog. This means that the readers can be continually receiving good information and great topics. But how can you know what types of tutorials to place on your site that will get you the right results that you are looking for? There are a few things to keep in mind before you start.
Choose A Good Topic
When you decide to include a tutorial on your blog, the topic is the most important part. You want to make sure that your topic is one that will be searched by many people. You also need to make sure that it is a topic that you are well knowledgeable in. If you do not know what you are talking about, you will not have continous readers. They must be learning good, new information from your blog.
When Writing a Tutorial
As you write the tutorial, it is important to make sure you explain each step clearly and simply. Just imagine that the reader has no idea what you are about to explain and tell it to them in a simple manner. Give them all the steps in a visual manner. Being clear and descriptive with help the readers understand all the small details and make you more credible as an expert.
Some Other Ideas
Like any other blog content, there are a few things that will always help your tutorial and make it stand out from others. One important thing to remember is to add images. Sometimes a good screen shot or other images that will help show the process of the tutorial can be very helpful when they are just starting out. If you can’t be there with them, then images are the next best thing.
Another good idea when it comes to tutorials is to use lots of good examples when you are describing a process. Make it very clear so that will not need any additional instructions. Just make sure that it is all there with good examples the first time. Provide them with all the information so that they will not go looking for answers in other places.
Get It Organized
When you read a tutorial there are usually step by step instructions to guide you through the process. Get your information organized in an effective manner. Guide your readers through what they are doing in a way that they will be able to understand it. Make sure that it is easy to read and easy to understand.
These are just a few things that you can focus on when writing a tutorial for your blog. Just know that you can always make changes to improve and help your tutorials be just as they need to be and help those who are using them. Keep on task and make sure that your blogs are exactly how they need to be.

Squidoo SEO Methods – 3 Powerful Squidoo SEO Techniques to Get More Traffic

Squidoo can be a very good place to write an article about a product or something that interests you and others. Squidoo also has a very high page rank, which in the Internet Marketing world means everything. With high page rank, comes high amounts of traffic. But even submitting to directories with a high page rank and an excellent Alexa ranking won’t do it all for you. I’ve outlined 3 techniques that will surely improve your Squidoo SEO if you use them.

1. Building Backlinks

To Internet Marketers, backlinks are like the “lifeblood” of their campaigns. But how do you build backlinks? By writing articles, of course! Write articles around your “long-tailed keyword phrases” and keep a 1-3% density in your articles.

Try not to focus strictly on writing around your “keyword phrases” though. Google needs to know where to find your article, but don’t over do it. Readers are looking for “real” content, and Google knows this. By using your keyword phrases too many times you are “stuffing” and therefore possibly sounding “unnatural”. This technique may have worked in the past, but it does no longer.

You can also get great backlinks by posting comments on other people’s relevant blogs. This is a great one for Squidoo SEO, but again don’t overdo it. Always post an informative comment and not a blatant “sales pitch”. This will be frowned upon by most administrators and could be looked at as SPAM.

2. Blogging

Like I mentioned before, writing a blog and posting to it regularly is what the Google “spiders” like. When they are crawling your site on a regular basis, you know that you are going to get a good amount of traffic. Always write blog posts and create pages around your targeted “keyword phrases”.

Blogging also allows you to show your own personality, and to create your own targeted “fan” base. Many bloggers have gained that extra “edge” through blogging. Both WordPress and Blogger are great places to start, Google is a big fan of both, so you can’t go wrong!

3. Using Keyword Phrases in the Title and Sub-Title

Google uses a very advanced “system” of finding web-pages. In order for them to find your lens easier, it must be “indexed” properly. The way to easily do this is by using your “keyword phrase” in the Title AND the Sub-Title. Again, do this “naturally”, so it doesn’t end up sounding like you are “forcing” the keywords in.

Remember to keep your keyword phrase FIRST in the title. For instance, if your article was about “F5 Fighter Planes”, you could write something like this: F5 Fighter Planes – 3 of the Best F5 Fighter Planes That Were Ever Built. This will let the “spiders” know that you have written your lens around F5 Fighter Planes, and therefore will be easier to find.

These are just a few, basic Squidoo SEO techniques that can be used that are VERY effective. Don’t rely on this alone to get you MILLIONS of page views overnight. Once you get a “rhythm” going you will be able to create MANY lenses. Remember always, MORE content and MORE lenses are always better than LESS.

WordPress and SEO Techniques For Your Blog

WordPress is the most important and popular blog platform today, embraced by numerous individuals, CEOs, marketing managers and anyone who has a message to communicate online. There are more than 50 million blogs out there, therefore, if you are planning to stand out, you have no choice but to keep the phrase WordPress and SEO in mind. WordPress is an amazing platform, very well appointed, offering a lot of amazing SEO power already built in. not everything comes by default, though, and you need to follow particular tips and hints in order to make a difference.
Most bloggers tend to forget that WordPress and SEO go together, and do not implement some of them, condemning their blog posts to invisibility, no matter how good they might be. Optimization for search engines depends on many different factors and can be implemented in many different ways. Here is what you should keep in mind if you want to implement a good SEO strategy for your blog:
? Permalink Optimization: The most important thing you can do regarding WordPress and SEO is to use the right keywords in the title. No matter how nicely written is your blog post, if no one can find it, it doesn’t really make any sense. The right keywords can make your URL visible and more attractive.
? Tags: Tags are very important for SEO, but only if they are useful and well picked. You do not need useless and unnecessary tags; there is no point in adding tags that have nothing to do with your permalink or description. On the contrary, they lessen the emphasis given on the title keywords.
? WordPress allows you to use Headings and Subheadings. Use them. They are defined by html code, with H1 for the main heading to H6 for the smaller one. If you are writing a long post with several topics elaborated in it, it’s a good idea to use sub headings, because this way you allow the search engines to search for keywords in the blog, and not only in the title. This way you increase the comprehensiveness of your blog in keywords and implement one of the most important WordPress and SEO techniques.
? Design: keeping the wordpress design clean, clear and simple is crucial. The body text should be written using clear heading and lines. Most bookmarking sites are against blogs, because of possible spamming, therefore keeping your blog well appointed and clear, can help your blog look more like a site, liked and appreciated everywhere. The design should also be clean because of crawlers; if Google, for example, sends a crawler to scan your blog and everything is too messy, with flashy and attacking designs and weird codes, chances are you will be ignored. Moreover, a clear design and text allows the visitor to see your text directly, without wondering where to click;
Wordpress and SEO techniques already built in the platform and these tips here can help you create a likeable site and interesting texts, with SEO interest as well, allowing your blog to be among the first results in Search engine queries.

White Hat vs Black Hat SEO Techniques

A wide variety of SEO methods are available that will work to improve the search engine rankings of web sites and their individual pages. Some of these techniques are thought to be sound and ethical, while others can be considered risky and manipulative. Various SEO marketers use at least one if not both of these methods with different degrees of success.

Internet marketers call safe, non-manipulative techniques White Hat SEO, while less reputable methods are referred to as Black Hat techniques. Some examples of White Hat SEO include optimizing META tags, putting keywords in URLs, submitting sites to directories, making sitemaps, obtaining links on related sites, and creating keyword-optimized content. These techniques help search engines locate relevant pages people are looking for. Search engines encourage such methods through services like Google Webmaster Tools.

On the other hand, Black Hat SEO includes efforts like redirecting search engine “spiders” to different pages than human visitors see, mass-posting “spam” comments (on blogs, forums, articles), or putting lists of keywords at the end of each page in very small fonts. Black hat methods may actually reduce the quality of search engine results. Some of these SEO strategies try to deceive users into visiting sites about subjects they don’t have any interest in, which puts them at odds with the purpose of search engines.

So how does White Hat compare vs. Black Hat for marketers and web site operators? Black Hat SEO methods can sometimes be faster and easier to use. However, they run the risk of causing search engines to downgrade or remove a site from results. In the long-term, they sometimes become ineffective; search engines usually catch on to each Black Hat technique after it is introduced, often penalizing sites which have used it.

White Hat SEO remains more time-consuming, but it yields better long-term results and has a more positive impact. People prefer to use web sites they haven’t been deceived into visiting, and search engines don’t like to list sites which have manipulated their way to a high ranking. Sites using white hatted techniques usually don’t have to worry about being removed from search engine results.

However, it remains important to carry out White Hat SEO techniques correctly and effectively. Using white hatted methods excessively or improperly can turn them into Black Hatted techniques. For example, posting linked comments on related blogs isn’t considered very problematic, but using software to submit huge quantities of identical or irrelevant comments is definitely viewed as a Black Hat technique.

White Hat SEO methods, if done properly, can actually product the best long-term outcome and create a greater impact on the web in general. Several once-common Black Hat techniques have fallen into disuse after search engines successfully developed ways to detect them.

Rising Black Hat SEO Techniques

SEO techniques are divided into two parts, techniques that search engines recommend as part of good design, and those techniques of which search engines do not approve. These techniques are known to many webmasters as the White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO. White hats tend to produce results that last a long time, whereas black hats anticipate that their sites may eventually be banned either temporarily or permanently once the search engines discover what they are doing.

The one reason why many webmasters still employ Black Hat SEO techniques is because of its quick results compared to White Hat. However, its results may only go as far compared to White Hat SEO which can provide permanent or long-lasting results. Although issues pertaining to the use of Black Hat SEO have been widely diminished by changing a search engine’s algorithm, such as the use of keyword stuffing in Meta Tags or Link Farming, several techniques have been currently used to manipulate the results of search engines. Some of these techniques have not yet been widely used as Black Hat SEO, but many consultants have come to consider these techniques are indeed a violation of search engine guidelines. These Black Hat SEO techniques include:

Scraper Sites This technique usually involves copying all the content of a website to a scraper site by use of web scrapping, which is a tool used for extracting information from a website. Although it may look like a search engine, usually because search engines does the same method by extracting information from a website and indexing it on their own, search engines are not scraper sites. In the last few years, and due to the advent of the Google Adsense web advertising program, scraper sites have proliferated at an amazing rate for spamming search engines. Open content sites such as Wikipedia are a common source of material for scraper sites. Scraper sites are widely used today as a way to gain profit by use of advertising programs such as Google AdSense. According to different SEO Philippines consultants, these sites are commonly known as Made for AdSense. Made for AdSense sites are considered sites that are spamming search engines and diluting the search results by providing surfers with less-than-satisfactory search results. The scraped content is considered redundant to that which would be shown by the search engine under normal circumstances had no Made for AdSense ebsite been found in the listings. Sybil Attack Named after a book called Sybil, a case study of a woman with multiple personality disorder, Sybil Attack is an attack wherein a reputation system is subverted by forging multiple identities in peer-to-peer networks. A reputation system’s vulnerability to a Sybil attack depends on how cheaply identities can be generated, the degree to which the reputation system accepts inputs from entities that do not have a chain of trust linking them to a trusted entity, and whether the reputation system treats all entities identically. A faulty node or an adversary may present itself with multiple identities in a peer-to-peer network to appear and function as distinct nodes. By becoming part of the peer-to-peer network, the adversary may then overhear communications or act maliciously.

By masquerading and presenting multiple identities, the adversary can control the network substantially. Splogs Spam blogs or usually known as Splogs are blogs particularly made for spamming. This is used to promote affiliated websites or to increase the search engine rankings of associated sites. This in turn will increase the PageRank or backlink portfolio of affiliate websites. There is frequent confusion between the terms “splog” and “spam in blogs”. Splogs are blogs where the articles are fake, and are only created for search engine spamming. To spam in blogs, conversely, is to include random comments on the blogs of innocent bystanders, in which spammers take advantage of a site’s ability to allow visitors to post comments that may include links. In fact, one of the earliest uses of the term “splog” referred to the latter. Splogs have become a major problem on free blog hosts such as Google’s Blogger service. By one estimate, about one in five blogs are spam blogs. According to different SEO Philippines consultants, these fake blogs waste valuable disk space and bandwidth as well as pollute search engine results, ruining blog search engines and damaging bloggers community networking. One particular problem is using popular blog names from other bloggers.

Splogs sometimes choose a name similar to a popular blog in order to benefit from the occasional incoming link from careless bloggers, who think they are linking to the popular site. Splog activity can cause problems for legitimate bloggers, if search engines respond to splog by blocking or treating as ‘suspicious’ all web addresses in a particular domain. Page Hijacking Page hijacking is a form of search engine index spamming. It is achieved by creating a rogue copy of a popular website which shows contents similar to the original to a web crawler, but redirects web surfers to unrelated or malicious websites. Spammers can use this technique to achieve high rankings in result pages for certain key words. Page hijacking is a form of cloaking, made possible because some web crawlers detect duplicates while indexing web pages. If two pages have the same content, only one of the URLs will be kept. A spammer will try to ensure that the rogue website is the one shown on the result pages.

Cookie Stuffing

Cookie stuffing can sometimes be a blackhat online marketing technique used to generate fraudulent affiliate sales. It involves placing an affiliate tracking cookie on a website visitor’s computer without their knowledge, which will then generate revenue for the person doing the cookie stuffing. Income is generated when the affected user visits the target affiliate site and either creates an account or makes a purchase, depending on the terms of the affiliate agreement. Operators of websites that allow user-generated content, such as forums that allow users to post, should be aware of this technique in order to protect their visitors from this attack. Cookie stuffing can be accomplished with as little as including an image in a forum post.

Blog Spamming

One of the most widely used form of Black Hat SEO today, blog spamming. This is usually done with the use of a software that automatically generates random comments to blogs. According to different SEO Philippines consultants, any web application that accepts and displays hyperlinks submitted by visitors may be a target. Adding links that point to the spammer’s web site artificially increases the site’s search engine ranking. An increased ranking often results in the spammer’s commercial site being listed ahead of other sites for certain searches, increasing the number of potential visitors and paying customers. Cloaking Cloaking refers to any of several means to serve a page to the search-engine spider that is different from that seen by human users. It can be an attempt to mislead search engines regarding the content on a particular web site. Cloaking, however, can also be used to ethically increase accessibility of a site to users with disabilities or provide human users with content that search engines aren’t able to process or parse. Villainous SEO Techniques

SEO or search engine optimization is one today’s most widely used form of Internet marketing technique. The technique was said to have grown from search engine marketing or SEM which introduced more “natural” techniques than that of SEM. It also introduced the cheapest Internet marketing method, which is currently used by many individuals, even the non-marketing people such as bloggers.
Although popular and powerful, particularly because of its many techniques and methods, SEO is also known for its use of techniques which is primarily used to deceive or manipulate the search engine result pages or popularly known as SERPS. This part of SEO is usually known as spamdexing. However, for SEO experts and professionals, including those from SEO Philippines companies, this part of SEO is also known as Black Hat SEO.
Villainous SEO
Black Hat SEO is a term used by professionals and enthusiasts alike to determine a set of techniques which is primarily used to deceive the SERPS into thinking that an irrelevant website is legit. Although some may consider this as a part of SEO, there are many search engine optimization methods that improve the quality and appearance of the content of web sites which serves useful content to many users.

A number of techniques have been involved in using Black Hat SEO. Most of these were abused form of White Hat SEO (which is a part of SEO that deals with guideline-approved techniques and methods), while some were mostly used only to manipulate and deceive the SERPS. These techniques include:
Link farms
One of the oldest forms of Black Hat SEO techniques, it involves creating tightly-knit communities of pages referencing each other. According to many SEO Philippines experts, it was first developed when search engines were fully dependent on link popularity, which means the more links you have the more popular in search engines you’ll get. Today, link farms have mostly lost it use because of Google.
Keyword stuffing
This method involves a lot of techniques. It involves the calculated placement of keywords within a page to raise the keyword count, variety, and density of the page. This can be done through hiding the text behind images through the use of CSS, hiding text by changing its font color to that of its background, alt attributes, and meta tags.
Article spinning
This involves rewriting existing articles, as opposed to merely scraping content from other sites, in order to avoid penalties imposed by search engines for duplicate content. According to many SEO Philippines experts, this process is undertaken by hired writers or automated using a thesaurus database or a neural network.
Comment spam
One of the most problematic type of Black Hat SEO, it is done by automatically posting random comments or promoting commercial services to blogs, wikis, guestbooks, or other publicly accessible online discussion boards. Any web application that accepts and displays hyperlinks submitted by visitors may be a target. Visit http://www. myoptimind. com for more info.

5 Highly Effective Website SEO Techniques

When implementing various website SEO techniques, most people focus more on the technical aspects of their sites to gain a higher search engine ranking. Getting hung up on meta tags and whether or not your site has too many or not enough keywords in it is old school. Search engines are more concerned with how user friendly and ‘content relevant’ your sites are for visitors. The horns and whistles such as flashing signs and dancing figures are nice but if the site isn’t easy to navigate or the content is inconsistent your rankings will suffer. Let’s look at 5 easy steps to building a more ‘humanized’ website that will increase your search engine ranking. 1. Simplify the site structureInsure the website format is easy to understand and use for visitors. Making the search for information on the site as simple and direct as possible will not only enhance user friendliness but also win more favorable search engine rankings as a result. 2. Maintain Quality ContentKeep your content relevant to your sites theme. Inconsistency will only confuse visitors and they will leave. If this cardinal rule is not followed you’ll not only lose your visitors but you’ll also fall out of favor with the search engines resulting in a poor ranking. Your content should be useful and interesting to the reader but don’t overlook the value of entertaining them as well using humor or even sarcasm, when appropriate. It’s important to remember we built these sites for humans and NOT search engines. 3. Rank for keyword phrasesWhen choosing the keywords that will help identify what your site is about try to incorporate these words into phrases. For example if your site deals with real estate instead of using the word ‘houses’ as a keyword, instead try using it in a phrase such as ‘houses for sale’ or ‘houses for sale in Boston’. These are ‘long tail keywords’ and you’ll find not only that there’s less competition for them but that the traffic you receive from folks searching these keyword phrases are more highly targeted. 4. Write articlesPublishing articles you’ve written related to the topic of your website is not only a fabulous way of advertising but you’ll also gain links from the major article directories to your site. Since many article directories have high rankings to begin with, links from their site to yours will help boost your websites rank with the search engines. 5. BlogStart a blog that links to your website. Search engines favor blogs in their rankings due primarily to the fact that a blogs content is usually updated more frequently than a websites. In summation website SEO techniques should focus more on simply creating a user friendly site that’s easy to navigate and contains useful and maybe even entertaining content for the readers. Do this and high rankings will follow.
